Carousel Rug - Atelier Kairos

Life is like a carousel. It goes up and down. All you gotta do is just stay on.
Carousel rug is an ode to joy and happiness. It is meant to inspire movement, dynamism and the vitality of life.

The concept behind the rug was to gradually create a composition by multiplying a sole element, “the carousel”, that due to its movement along its journey would suffer a transformation that changes its initial form, leaving behind parts of it.

The background of the rug pattern is hand-knotted in cut pile with Chinese silk, while the elements of the pattern are popping out in Himalayan wool in cut pile, creating the three dimensional look of the rug.
